It’s always a pleasure to find a perfect album by a pop group. What makes a perfect album? Each song has a life of its own, yet adds to the magic around it. Each song here could be a hit single, yet doesn’t need to be because it adds tonality and flourishes to the songs that introduce and follow. Anyone who spends a day or two around here will know I very seldom shoutout an entire album, but TV on the Radio has produced an album on which not one song stands out heads above the others. They are all integral and create a single unit of space that is kept tight so that no one section goes on too long, nor is anything too short. Intelligently written, and well-produced with arrangements that enhance the entertainment value. This will be one of those rare records that will stay close to your CD player for several years.
